I'm a person who cares and embraces all she can do to help the world and humanity.
Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Lifestyle Advocate, speaker, chef in addition to a long and successful career in the music business – so much to be proud of and bragging rights for life. What are the essential skills that have helped you navigate from one role to another?
When you realize that your role in one position affects and is interactive with the other positions you hold. World music, lifestyle, food, the environment and human rights are all related and rely on each other to prosper.
The essential skill set is listening. Truly listening to people, hearing what they have to say and what they would like to accomplish. Then, no matter which position you hold at the time you can help facilitate and implement the proper deals to accomplish these goals.
You have said that it is not easy to fall in love with your life and live free from guilt and denial. What is the best advice to get to that state of mind?
Stay as true to your core beliefs as much as possible in your daily lifestyle, in your weekly, monthly and yearly goals. Set goals that keep you engaged and make your mindset happy. Keep it real!
Talk to us about your organic vegan food line Tohi Organics Vegan Meals. What’s the story behind it? What and where can we buy Tohi Organics Vegan Meals?
I'm a passionate Vegan and try to promote the lifestyle. At the same time I was the official Integrative Nutrition Health Coach at The Westerly Natural Market in NYC. In my practice, people were asking us to cook healthy meals for them...so this sparked the idea to make prepared vegan meals for sale at the Westerly Market. The Westerly gave us the green light and we were in business. They were a huge success and we sold product for over 2 years. We are relaunching this May/June 2022.
Is there a simplified list of steps to follow in order to reach an ideal balance in life for emotional, physical and spiritual fulfillment? First, you need to clarify what your health goals or concerns are that you want to address. You can start with a one month plan, three month and six month outline. Each page should have a list of how you plan to accomplish and reach these goals. I call it your POA - Plan of Action. Then keep a daily log so you can track your progress and most important don't be afraid to update, modify and change direction if you feel things are not shifting the way you intended them to manifest. Reach out for assistance for the people and services you need to help you fulfill your goals. Protecting the environment is one of your main concerns constantly reflected in your work and life choices. What can we all do more of for a positive impact on the environmental state of affairs? As we know farming practices and the cruel and inhuman treatment of animals directly affects the environment. Animal agriculture is the second largest contributor to human made greenhouse gas (CHG) emissions after fossil fuels and a leading cause of deforestation, water and air pollution and biodiversity loss.
Changing the way we think, eat and what we wear will and can save the planet. Changing settings a bit here: what are the music vibes that you are attracted to these days? I'm attracted to the ever interactive change to the World Music scene as it's being redirected and re-introduced in new innovative ways. An example of this is Angelique Kidjo, a very popular singer from Benin today, tackling an album-length cover of the Talking Heads' 1980 landmark album "Remain in Light". Inspired by its Afrobeat origins, she tackles this amazing remake. 40 years later a rock-inspired album by one of the most influential bands of our times is redefined by Angelique Kidjo. Amazing! Do you have a perfect New York City story to share with our audience? While working at Island Outpost - Bob Marley Music at Worldwide Plaza, NYC, at 10 am, Chris Blackwell is approaching our office and says matter of fact - "Oh by the way, I just ran into Grace Jones (who used to be on Island Records) and she's on her way up to meet you and Doreen and by the way, we'll be managing her!" Well, 5 minutes later, Grace Jones appears. She was/is one of my idols. Not only was I star struck and met her in-person, but we were now officially her manager! It was an interesting ride for 6 months.... We have been working on a Shout Out & Pass It On feature highlighting people who help one another with professional and personal growth opportunities. On that note, who are the people who have helped you in your life? Who are some of the people who you have helped along the way? Chris Blackwell, President of Island Records, Island Outpost and Bob Marley Music. He was an amazing mentor & ahead of his time. While working with Chris, he Introduced "Lifestyle" along side music, organic foods along with resourcing organic & hemp materials back in the 90's for Bob Marley T-Shirts and his various resorts through Island Outpost. He exposed us and helped shape me into the aware person I am today.
Some of the people who I have also helped along the way as a standout would be my clients when TOHI was an associate partner of Alliance Home Care. We brought new, healthy cooking skills and more as part of our program to Seniors & Aides providing social interaction as we invited family to cook with us at clients homes while we instructed "How-To" prepare healthy meals at home. We have an ongoing campaign titled #BeatTheBlues with real life choices linked to our mental health. What does Stephanie Levine do to #BeatTheBlues? Stay CONNECTED with friends, family and be involved and passionate about what you do everyday!! Reach out and give back.
Thank you Stephanie. Cheers!
