Dear Dan,
Once a reporter for The Baltimore Sun, you are also the author of several successful thrillers. What pushed you to the leap from having a job with an established institution to making a name for yourself writing books? It was either that or die of exhaustion, I suppose, because I had reached the point where I was writing fiction in the morning, from about 6 to 9 a.m., and then going into The Sun newsroom to be a reporter for the next eight to ten hours, and sometimes longer. By Fridays, I was cooked, mentally and physically. |
